Ranch based ride

Our days look like this:

Day 1 – Sunday

Arrival day. Arrive when your transportation connection allows. You will be picked up at the airport or bus station and transferred to Lazy Horse. If you prefer to drive, we will send directions. Enjoy the day walking in the forest or just becoming familiar with the horses. Take them out for a walk or graze in the fields. Group dinner, followed by a ride and safety orientation.
The chef at the BBQ will be your host, Rasim.

Day 2 – Monday (2 hours riding)

After a hearty breakfast we will meet the horses and saddle up for a morning’s easy introductory ride of approximately 2 hours. Lunch at the farm, followed by a trip into Sarajevo for a guided 2-hour walking tour, learning all about the history of this beautiful city.
Dinner in Sarajevo Old Town and return to the ranch for the night.

Day 3 – Tuesday (3-4 hours riding)

After a leisurely breakfast we will saddle up again for a longer ride through the forests around the farm. After a couple of hours, we will stop in a lovely spot for a picnic lunch as the horses graze, your hosts will prepare a typical grilled meal at a cabin in the woods.
After the ride, enjoy taking a walk, reading, relaxing or catching up on world affairs (free Wifi).
Dinner at Lazy Horse.

Day 4 – Wednesday (5-6 hours riding)

We will depart in the morning after breakfast on a trail to the northwest.
We will slowly continue downhill towards the Lepenica river where you will enjoy riding through the shallow water. Along the riverbank of Lepenica, we will barbeque fish, straight from the river fish farm just down the road. (Roast vegetables for vegetarians). After a rest, nap in hammocks, or a wade in the shallow river, we return to Lazy Horse ranch.
Sleep at the Lazy Horse base, after a delicious home-cooked dinner.

Day 5 – Thursday (3-4 hours riding)

Approx. 4-hour ride: Thursday to Friday we embark on an overnight trail to a mountain lodge– the base of a local hiking group. After a leisurely breakfast, we follow a recently marked trail to the Ormanj Mountain Lodge, our overnight destination. Make sure to put a backpack or duffel in the support vehicle containing what you need for your overnight stay. Enjoy your “lunch snack with a view” enroute, leading to an early dinner at the lodge.

Day 6 – Friday (3-4 hours riding)

After a hearty breakfast, we saddle the horses and return to Lazy Horse ranch via a somewhat different route. We will have time to explore a bit. The trails in the national forest often change quickly – maybe this new one gets us back without any surprises? This is the essence of trail riding. Lunch snack at Lazy Horse. Enjoy the late afternoon relaxing, followed by dinner and overnight stay at the ranch.

Day 7 – Saturday (2 hours riding, SPA, and massage incl)

Farewell ride: After breakfast, enjoy a morning ride in the hills above Lazy Horse. This ride offers steep hills and beautiful forests. Flat sections invite a light trot or canter. After about 30 minutes, we will stop in a small and mostly deserted meadow, where we will find a mystical scene in a small forest – a large group of century-old monuments (tombstones) without markings, covered with moss, and scattered in a small area. Wind your way down the forest to the valley below (watch your legs!), and return to the ranch. Reward your horses with some nice treats. Say thank you and tuck them in.
Spa afternoon! Travel to a spa for a relaxing massage, enjoy hot springs, a heated pool and steam bath with your riding companions. Farewell dinner and overnight stay at Lazy Horse.

Day 8 – Sunday

After breakfast you can say goodbye to the horses and your trail comrades before being transferred to the Airport or your accommodation in Sarajevo.

Price:  EUR 1.199,00 — including airport and spa transfers, and all meals but excluding beverages, which will be sold for prices equal to that in the supermarket. The price includes accommodation at Lazy Horse plus one night at a mountain lodge.  If guests prefer other options, guests will pay directly to the accommodation provider.  Options include, for example, Villa Osenik (entire villa with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms or the luxurious Tarcin Forest Resort and Spa MGallery (by Sofitel) Optional activities (marked by an asterisk, at extra cost, payable directly to the service provider.
